Lisätietoa

Course description

In AIDA2 Pool freediving adventure you will learn the basic knowledge of freediving from breathing techniques and relaxation as well as diving with fins and equalization techniques. The adventure consists of theoretical lectures, pool exercises and an exam. The course material and teaching is in English. In this course there will be Kristian Mäki-Jussila as an instructor and Henrietta Kivijärvi as an assistant instructor.

After the adventure, the student has the skills to safely freedive and practice freediving skills. At the end of the adventure, AIDA2 Pool- freediving card, which is a requirement for many dive centers around the world, is awarded to students who have passed the AIDA requirements (2 min static breathhold, 40 meter dynamic dive with fins and 75% of points in exam). The pool card can be upgraded to Aida2 freediver by completing the open water courses with our open water adventure or with any other Aida instructor around in the world.

The requirements for participating in the AIDA2-Pool adventure are to be at least 18-year-old (16 with parents permission) and to be able comfortable to swim 200 meters without diving equipment and 300 meters with basic equipment (mask, snorkel and fins). Previous experience of freediving is not required and no other courses are required, eg AIDA1. To obtain an AIDA2 pool card, you need to pass pool requirements and an exam based on the theoretical parts of the course. The course material will be shared electronically after the last cancellation day.

In pool exercises you need basic diving equipment (mask, snorkel and fins), swimsuit, waterproof stopwatch, weights, and a wetsuit. It would be good to have a wetsuit on the course, especially in static breathold exercises where we don’t move it can get easily cold. The swimming pool water temperature is about 28.5 degrees. If you are missing one of these equipment please inform us of any shortcomings in good time before the course. We have some equipment (except wetsuits) that we like to lend to our students.

The price of the course is 170 € (incl. 24% VAT), which includes, among other things, pool rent, lecture notes, AIDA2 Pool card, entrance fees and insturctors travel expenses.
